Testimonial May 2010
"We extensively researched the world of garden offices
and found terrific value and experience in GD Timber
Designs. We had a few challenges to overcome regarding
planning permission, access to the site, the small size of our
garden in London and simultaneous works going on at the site - from
the outset we were met with a 'can do' attitude from James and the
process was stress free and completed ahead of time. The new
office is fantastic, better than we had ever expected it to be
and we now have a large new room that is the perfect space to hide
away in and get down to work in. It sets off our little
garden too and turns it into a space that we will use much
more. As a bonus, we have also been informed that, with this
new addition, the value of our property has increased
by almost double the cost of the garden office! Thank
you again, I cannot recommend GD Timber enough."

"Thank you so much for the garden building which you
erected this week. We are very pleased with the design and build
quality. Having done our research before buying from GD Timber
Designs, we know it represents good value. Thanks also for
the way you dealt with us - you delivered exactly what you promised
and on time. Thank you also for the chicken house which we
hope will have occupants next week. We look forward to
dealing with you again when we have finalised plans for a
summerhouse."

"Thank you for this great office you built for us. I must say that
James was very easy to deal with and not afraid of hard work and
getting the Job done. He gave us great advice was helpful and kept
to a good timetable even though he was very busy. I would highly
recommend GD timber, they are a good decent reputable firm who give
that little extra."

Outside interests
James Godman-Dorington began his joinery business making bespoke
stables. These were followed by the 'Cock A Hoop' hen house, which
in turn provided the inspiration for a smart Wendy house on stilts.
Both structures are handmade and painted sage-green and cream. The
Hen house comes with or without wheels, and in two sizes; the
smaller version with wheels, which has room for up to six hens,
measures 150 X 100 X 100cm, and costs £624. The Wendy House, 300 x
240 x 120cm, costs £1645.

A Cock a Hoop playhouse is a rather more affordable option.
Handmade and painted to any choice of colour, this is a perfect
haven to while away a summer's day. A standard house measures 8ft x
4ft and costs just under £2,000 with delivery and installation as
an extra, but can of course, come, bigger or smaller depending on
the space.

Child's play
James and Claire Godman-Dorington started their West Sussex
business, James G-D, making bespoke stables, soon expanding into
building pretty painted chicken coops. Now they have added Cock a
Hoop Wendy Houses to their remit. These delightful structures are
made to order and can be painted in any colour or supplied
unpainted.
