About us

GD Timber Designs is a small family business, based in rural West Sussex and run by James Godman-Dorington and his wife Claire.

We started our business building heavy duty, bespoke stables and field shelters and launched our new range of painted timber buildings in July 2006 under the brand name Cock-A-Hoop!

Having started the line with beautiful Hen Houses for pampered chickens, we expanded into Wendy Houses , Garden Studios , Offices , Summer Houses , Garden Sheds and in Summer 2007 Traditional Tree Houses .

To date we have supplied our play houses to schools in Yorkshire, Sussex and Bath. Our buildings are now installed as far afield as North Wales, the Isle of Wight and Jersey.

All our buildings are made using high grade, FSC sourced, pressure treated timber for durability and strength and can be supplied unpainted and flat packed if required, as well as being painted in any colour you wish.

We work closely with our clients on a one to one basis to ensure we achieve the best building for your requirements and budget.

As all our buildings are bespoke and hand made to order we can accommodate any design or alterations to size and style.
